Why We Chose Siem Reap for Our Latest Collection

When we began planning our latest collection, we weren't searching for the most luxurious resort or the most photographed destination. 

We were searching for something far more difficult to find.

We were searching for authenticity.

Every Cashmere Luxe wrap begins with craftsmanship. Woven by hand in our family atelier in Nepal, each piece carries the time, patience and skill of the artisans who create it. It deserved to be photographed in a place that shared those same values.

We travelled to Siem Reap with an open mind, visiting several beautiful properties along the way. Each offered its own interpretation of luxury, yet something was missing. The settings were elegant, but they didn't tell the story we wanted to tell.

Then we arrived at Sala Lodges.

From the moment we walked through the entrance, we knew we had found it.

Some places don't simply provide a backdrop—they become part of the story.

It wasn't perfection that captured us. It was character.

The weathered timber. The handcrafted details. The quiet beauty of restored Khmer homes. Every texture spoke of history, every corner reflected the care of skilled hands, and every building carried a story that deserved to be preserved.

In that moment, it became clear that this wasn't simply a location for a photoshoot.

It was a place that understood craftsmanship.

Just like the artisans who weave every Cashmere Luxe wrap by hand in Nepal, Sala Lodges celebrates traditions passed from one generation to the next. Different countries. Different crafts. The same respect for heritage, patience and enduring beauty.

It was exactly where our collection belonged. 

We didn't leave Siem Reap with hundreds of photographs. We left with something far more valuable—a deeper understanding of why craftsmanship deserves to be surrounded by craftsmanship.

Every Cashmere Luxe collection begins with the hands that weave it. Sometimes, the places we choose to tell that story become part of the collection too.
